Last Fool At The Bar

The idle chatter has faded
and the lights are as dim as my future since you went away
The smoke has soaked through my clothes
and I’ve heard every good song on the jukebox most of em twice
The friendly girls have all flown the coop and the sheriff has staked out my car
That’s what it’s like to be the last fool at the bar

The faces have all gone their places
Yours is the one face I just can’t erase from my mind
The show has long been over
The boys all took off and my drums are the only thing standing
Now packing drums don’t hold the allure when you’re fourteen you don’t think that far
That’s why I hate to be the last fool at the bar

I’d walk outside and make a wish but in this town you can’t see the stars
That’s why I’ll always be the last fool at the bar
I’ll always be the last fool at the bar hey hey
